Can you really be Religious and in Harmony with Nature?

I have been told many times that being a Christian means that you are superior to Nature -and we are- but nowhere in the Holy Bible does it say that we are allowed to destroy nature and make this planet a wasteland. So now I have chosen to be a strong Christian and also be a Nature Lover which means I will be as little superior to nature as possible. So what do you think?
